Question: What is the MOMS Club all about?
In 1983 Mary James, an at-home mother in California, decided she was tired of being alone at home. She wanted to meet other at-home mothers and she wanted to find other at-home children for her children to play with. When she discovered there were no other organizations that met during the day and allowed her to come with her baby and preschooler, she decided to start a brand new organization just for at-home mothers, and the MOMS Club® was born.
The chapter she started was so successful, she knew mothers in other areas must be needing the MOMS Club, too. Soon she and other volunteers were helping mothers start MOMS Clubs across the country and around the world!
We now have over 1,500 chapters with more than 75,000 members across the United States. We also have International chapters starting too!

Question: East and West Clubs? Where is the dividing line between the east and west Fort Collins MOMS Clubs?
Beginning July 1, 2006, MOMS Club® of Fort Collins "sistered," forming two separate clubs: MOMS Club® of Fort Collins East (website) and MOMS Club® of Fort Collins West (join via e-mail). The geographic dividing line is Lemay Avenue. This will allow members to attend more activities, as well as to get to know others that live closer geographically. We are excited that MOMS Club is so popular. (If you do not live in either of the areas outlined above please contact MOMS Club International to be directed to the proper chapter for your location.)
Question: I just joined. Now what?
Welcome! The membership coordinator will e-mail you the club information. You will receive an e-mail invitation to join our online forum. Choose your own password. Please RSVP for club events online, by clicking the calendar link. If you notice a way you would like to volunteer, please call or email any executive board member. Their information is listed in each newsletter.

We also have many activity groups listed on our New Members page and weekly playgroups based on the age of your kids.
Question: Can my children really come to everything with me? What about kids I baby-sit for?
Yes, you can bring your children to everything. You may bring any children that you are responsible for as long as we have a signed liability release form for each child (available from the Membership VP.)
Question: How can I get more involved?
Just contact any executive board member. Form a new activity group. Come to the Member’s meetings and share your ideas and opinions. This is YOUR club, and you will get out of it what you put into it. We rely on our members for everything, so your participation will be very appreciated.
Question: Are Dads welcome to join the Fort Collins Moms Club West?
Anyone other than a Mom (Dads, grandparents, nannies, etc.) who want to join are subject approval by a vote of the membership at our Monthly Member Meeting.
Question: Can I work and still be a part of Moms Club?
Yes! We have many moms that work at something part-time, freelance or as consultants. The goal is to support all moms, regardless of their choices to work or not.
Question: How much will the Fort Collins Moms Club West cost me?
You do not need to spend any money besides your annual dues of $20, unless you so choose. Most events are free. Some field trips and mom’s nights out may cost additional funds, but we try to keep them reasonable. In addition, you may choose to bring snacks or a potluck dish to some events, or donate supplies to a party, and the cost of those are up to you.
Question: I can't afford my dues. I still want to join the Fort Collins Moms Club West. What can I do?
Membership dues may be waived for financial hardship. It's more important to have the support for you and your family.
Question: I have an interest that the MOMS Club doesn’t address. Whom do I talk to?
If you have any suggestions, please call any executive board member. We would love to help you start a new activity group! Chances are good that if you are interest in something, another member is too.
